Who is it for?
Anyone new to the practice, patients who haven't seen a dentist in some time, or those seeking a second opinion on a previous treatment recommendation.
Shorter check-up
Returning patients who are up to date with X-rays and have no new concerns can book a routine examination instead of a full new patient appointment.

Your first visit journey
The new patient exam takes approximately 60 minutes including X-rays and discussion.

Start of appointment: Medical history & concerns
We review your medical history, current medications and any specific concerns, this shapes how we approach the rest of the exam.

20–30 minutes: Full mouth examination
Teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, soft tissues and all existing restorations are systematically assessed and recorded.

As needed: X-rays & photos
Bitewing X-rays and clinical photographs are taken to supplement the clinical exam and create your baseline record.

End of appointment: Summary & plan
We explain what we found, what needs attention, what can wait, and what we recommend monitoring, in plain language, with no pressure.

Frequently asked questions
How long will it take?
Allow 60 minutes, we don't rush and we'd rather spend the time at the first visit than miss something.
Do I need to bring anything?
A list of current medications is helpful, as is any recent dental X-rays if you have them.
What if I haven't seen a dentist in years?
We're not here to judge, many of our patients come to us after a gap and we approach this exam without judgment, just thoroughness.
Will I need treatment on the same visit?
No. The first appointment is assessment only; all treatment is planned and booked separately.
